The issue was that Perigo lost his job back then and needed an income. He convinced Rowlands to pay him an income to write a daily article. Knowing both of them, I knew it would not work and said so to several people. There's no way in hell Perigo had the discipline to write one article a day for very long (and he still doesn't). It did not take very long for "Daily Linz" to turn into "Linz When He Feels Like It." If you look in the archives, you will eventually find posts to back all this up, even the money stuff. On Rowlands' side, what little he has stated in public about his investments, the amount announced has always been quite small and it has been accompanied by an attitude of rigidity often bordering on pettiness. Regardless, there was no way in hell he was going to shell out for too long to a person who refused to meet deadlines. Boom. It had to happen. All this stuff was played down at the time and public commentary about it has been avoided like the plague since then, but I sincerely think this small money was behind the breakup of SoloHQ. At least it was a major contributing factor. Now I see a racist dude on board at Siberia defended tooth and nail by Perigo, and I see him make comments like "My own view is to have solopassion.com in the top 500 of NZ websites and we are well on the way to that important objective." Hmmmmmm... I smell money. (Don't mind me. Just gossiping. Hell, all standards have flown out the window by now anyway...) Michael No. There is a stink of something in the air Michael, but it's not emanating from here. This along with you earlier false accusations about "garbage hits" to increase SOLO's Alexa rating... Gah! Whatever some might suggest, that I am mistaken about Lindsay Perigo's character and I certainly don't believe I am, I am certain I'm not mistaken about yours either. Lying, gossiping, smearing... Gah!

I could just as easily say I recognize a liberal white professor when I see one, tolerant on the surface, incessantly tut-tutting people on their lack of moral form and not explaining in a coherent fashion exactly why other people should conform to their dictates.
It is refreshing, however, to see that someone other Lindsay, someone Lindsay has praised or garden variety orthodox Objectivists has raised your ire. I might otherwise have indicated that you lack perspective.
Yes, there are racists still running around of both black and white varieties, but the nature of the problem in the 2000's is more a problem of asking the offending parties to wipe the mud off their boots before they approach than asking them to refrain from using the firehose or the rifle.

You need merely read the next couple of posts on that same OL thread to see Michael Stuart Kelly's conjecture about Elijah Lineberry being rather conclusively refuted.
As William Scott Scherk pointed out, Mr. Lineberry got red-buttoned for a time, on account of posting crap like this

Obviously Mr. Perigo's moral compass wasn't totally perturbed—he knew a good old fashioned white racist when he saw one.
What escapes me is why Mr. Perigo allowed him to return to the site.
Since I teach at a university that was segregated by law from its founding in 1890 all the way until 1963, in a state that was the first to secede from the Union (in December 1860), and boasts the highest per capita ratio of Confederate war memorials, I have trouble imagining how anyone dwelling on the same planet as the rest of the posters here could have written what Mr. Lineberry wrote—unless he believes in racial superiority and inferiority, and legal consignment of the inferior to second-class citizenship.
Mr. Lineberry should be required to study every last line of the old Jim Crow laws of the State of Mississippi (which, to this day, has never ratified the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution), and write them out in longhand. And no, it wasn't just Leftists who called them Jim Crow laws...
Between 1865 and 1995, more African-Americans left the Southern states every year than moved into them. This trend has finally now reversed, for every Southern state except ... Mississippi.
